Age/Appearance:
Durham stands at 6ft tall, sports a smart and entirely sensible crop of blonde hair, usually combed neatly back from his face, and has bright blue piercing eyes. He is trim and reasonably fit, most of his exercise coming in the form of either squash games with colleagues or cricket at the weekend.( more )
Personality:
To say Durham has a personality disorder would be grossly over-diagnosing the changeable states one can find him in. But this particular Englishman isn’t so much fickle as simply unsure of himself in ways he feels he should have settled by this stage in his life.( more )
History:
Durham is born James Rupert Baxter in Epsom hospital, Surrey, in 1979. He lives with his parents in Leatherhead, in a large, detached, five-bedroom house. Charlotte is born into the Baxter family almost three years to the day after her older brother. James spends the first week ignoring the latest addition to the family after he is promptly ignored by all the adults in his life.( more )
World History:
[Source]
For the past four hundred years the governments of the world - the parliaments, the senates, the kings, queen, emperors, the fascists and the communists, the proletariats and the bourgeosie - have never really been the ones in control of their countries. Orders - clandestine society of superpowered operatives - have worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of hundreds of governments throughout the world. Selecting their operatives according to their own agendas the Orders continue to regulate themselves independently of any governmental involvement whilst maximising their involvement in national affairs at the very topmost political levels.( more )
Sexual Preferences/Orientation:
As far as sex is concerned James hasn’t been too adventurous or willing to expose himself to unnecessary criticism. There have been no great romances, but instead awkward exchanges as a teenager and less awkward but even more loveless as an adult. Durham, conversely, has sex he knows he can wipe all memory of if he chooses to. This gives him an element of freedom his otherwise crushingly acute lack of confidence has otherwise suppressed.( more )
Powers:
Durham possesses the power of mnemokinesis (memory manipulation), the full extent of which spans from initial memory destruction through to providing a credible alternative set of memories. The process is generally not easily thwarted, aided by the paradoxical effects of thought suppression. Asked not to think about certain memories, the target is unable to think of anything else, making it that much easier for Durham to latch onto those strands knocked loose for removal.( more )
